Glenna (Epps) McVoy, I.C. Norcom High School Class of 1989

“Hi, Trulinda.  I wanted to personally thank you for a job well done with this past weekend’s events.  Everything went very well.  It was a pleasure working with you and the committee; however, you were the ingredient that kept it all together.  You have my sincere thanks for the hard work and dedication that you put into our class reunion!.”

Tanja Darden, I.C. Norcom High School Class of 1989

“Trulinda spearheaded our graduating class’ 10-year and 20-year class reunions.  Trulinda served as the primary point of contact for each of the vendors, communicating our requirements and negotiating terms of contracts.  She designed the t-shirt and laptop bag souvenirs that were purchased for each classmate and worked with the vendors to ensure the products were of acceptable quality and delivered on-time.

Trulinda attended to every detail to ensure that our classmates had a wonderful time.  She worked with the Spirit of Norfolk Cruise Ship to organize a group picture before the ship sailed and ensured that a picture and souvenir booklet was sent to one of our classmates who planned to attend the reunion, but was deployed to Kuwait just two weeks before the Reunion weekend.  I think most telling is the feedback we received from classmates about the reunion.  These comments are due to Trulinda’s hard work, excellent organizational and project management skills, as well as her dedication.”

Dwayne Merriweather, Senior Advocate

“Trulinda demonstrates a strong work ethic.  Examples of her hands-on work include topical health expos for residents at independent senior living facilities and senior centers, as well as Wii Bowling Tournaments for senior Hampton Roads community residents on both the Southside and the Peninsula.  Each of these expos and tournaments included many detailed elements and were a huge success.  Trulinda possesses strong interpersonal skills, creativity, self-initiative, organizational skills, integrity and much more.”

Testimonials

Annie White-Guertin, PARC Executive Director

“Trulinda was instrumental in the successful coordination of our 2011 Annual Walk for Hope fundraiser.  Her compassion, enthusiasm, organizational skills and attention to details contributed to the event’s success.  Ms. Britt created sponsorship levels for businesses and individual supporters, worked with an IT professional to create online registration for participants, designed a promotional flyer for church bulletins and met with board members, staff and volunteers during the planning and post-evaluation/de-briefing process.”

Keisha Hawkins, Luncheon Attendee

“I had a GREAT time chillin' with my family as we celebrated my Auntie and 2 other ladies at the 2015 Black Women in History Luncheon (Honoring Great Women in Medicine, Education and Community Service).  It was an awesome celebration.  What a joy it was to see these 3 women and read about their contributions to society."

Calvin Mitchell, I.C. Norcom High School Class of 1989

“Trulinda, major kudos to you for spearheading the reunion effort! It couldn't have worked out any better! Folks are still buzzing about it!  Best reunion ever!”
